'Briana has attend LiveUp since it's inception and I remain in awe of the program that you have nurtured.First‚ there are the INCREDIBLE volunteers....many of whom return year after year. Their giving and absolute zest for the program is astounding. Each and every young woman that Briana has ever been paired with has brought something unique and has made a deep impression on her and always a good one!Second‚ the emphasis on independence and healthy living‚ as an adult‚ has inspired Briana to assume responsibility for some of her health care and her transportation to and from work for two examples.Third‚ the camaraderie and sense of 'family' that is LiveUp make it a truly unique experience and one that Briana‚ Joe and I are truly proud to be a part of.Warmest regards‚Mary Dunn'- Briana Dunn, Philadelphia 2015
A Great Weekend!
'Thank you to all the staff and volunteers that organized Live Up Philly. Our son‚ Danny‚ had a great time! This was Danny's second time at Live Up Philly. He was on the go from the time we dropped him off till when we picked him up. He enjoyed spending time with old friends and making new ones. Danny's counselor‚ Benny‚ knew Danny from previous years and was great with Danny and made us feel so comfortable. Danny spent the weekend learning new things‚ socializing all weekend‚ and having fun at the same time. Live Up consists of an amazing group of people who are dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with Down syndrome. We are so thankful for all their efforts in giving Danny a weekend to remember and a weekend to look forward to again next year. Ed and Coleen Lynch'- Edward AND COLEEN Lynch, Philadelphia 2015
'Boston was my first LiveUP experience. It was totally awesome. I made new friends‚ had fun experiences‚ and was happy to be away on my own weekend. We went to a Red Sox game‚ watched fireworks on the 4th of July‚ and went sailing. My mentor‚ Evan was way cool. It was fantastic‚ and I can't wait to go again!'- Nancy Clayburgh, Boston 2015
'Kelly is still talking of her LiveUp experience here in San Diego last month. It's one of her very rare 'outings' where she has had overnight stays. She was immediately made to feel so comfortable by her mentor Vikki‚ and her roommates‚ and the rest of the weekend became just one wonderful experience after another. I feel she stepped up a few rungs in her independence skills‚ and fit in socially with everyone. The staff were open‚ friendly and obviously enjoy their work with these special people‚ it shone through. Also‚ Thank you to Andy who Kelly mentioned (a lot!). And‚ a special thank you to Jenna‚ away on the east coast for her help in getting all the admin sorted.'- Ron Choularton (for Kelly my daughter), San Diego 2015

'This is Melissa and I have attended LveUp 3 times. It's a great experience to connect with people and get to know them. I encourage all of you to attend these programs. They benefit you by learning daily living skills and community resources in different states. I have had a wonderful opportunity to attend these programs and I truly recommend it to all of you. The volunteers are great and the directors do a wonderful job planning the programs throughout the year. LiveUp in San Diego-Stephanie Tacey
'I enjoyed meeting new people and experiencing motivating activities as a group. I love to cook and learn about new
recipes. The Farmers Market was a good place to buy veggies and then cook together. The sail boat was so much
fun and we all had a great time. I enjoy LiveUP so much because my goal is to be independent and learn to do
things without my parents. LiveUp gives everyone the opportunity for decision making, accountability, responsibility
as individual and working together in a group. The Mentors are wonderful and they help all of us to learn new
things and to have fun.'- Stephanie Leigh Tacey, San Diego 2015
Labor Day is not sad anymore!
'As a kid, and then as a mom, I dreaded Labor Day. To me it meant the end of summer, the end of freedom.
However, when my son, Phillip, began a tradition of attending Live Up DC, Labor Day weekend became a much anticipated
adventure which offers fun and freedom - both for HIM and HIS PARENTS! Phillip loves his Live Up weekends. Being part of a caring and energetic group of age appropriate peers who engage in meaningful activities offered by the city is stimulating, and offers him a chance to feel independent from the \"norm\" of life at home with mom and dad. And in turn we (mom and dad) get a break, too ( although I confess I spend a LOT of time on the ipad during Live Up weekend, just seeking out the amazing photos and activity updates that leave us in AWE of the committment and creativity of the Live Up planning team!)

San Diego Live Up Rocks
'I have been to this Live Up program 3 times. It is the highlight of my summer. I meet the best people there. The director, Emily was fantastic. She is a special person who is always looking for ways to have fun with us. I enjoyed all the activities and especially laughing with my friends, Kelly and Derek. I am so glad to be able to keep in touch via Face Book. I hope everyone who want to experience Camp Live Up has as much fun as me. Dictated to my mom by me, Lisa Newtop'- Lisa M Newtop, San Diego 2015
